Chief Officer

As Chief Officer onboard a vessel of E.R. Schiffahrt you are among other things responsible for the seaworthiness of the vessel, for the proper care for the vessel’s cargo and crew, and for the planning, execution and supervision of maintenance and repair works in the deck department. You are also responsible for the organisation and supervision of the catering department.
The Chief Officer is the superior of all nautical officers and of all seafarers employed in the deck and catering departments. In this capacity he manages the respective departments as directed by the Master and/or the Company.
