Executive
Albert Schumacher
CEO E.R. Schiffahrt and Managing Director of E.R. Capital Holding
As Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Albert Schumacher is responsible for the company’s marine operations and customer relations including quality management, process management as well as fleet insurance. Furthermore, negotiations with charterers for all container and bulk vessels in the group or sale of such vessels are part of his responsibilities.
Albert Schumacher completed a degree as a trained shipping agent. He then spent 25 years working for the tramp shipowner Reederei “Nord” Klaus E. Oldendorff, where he was an authorised officer in charge of commercial operations and chartering. Mr. Schumacher has served as Managing Director of E.R. Schiffahrt since 1999.
Frank Bergert
Chief Financial Officer and Managing Director of E.R. Capital Holding
Frank Bergert is Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of E.R. Schiffahrt, E.R. Capital Holding and a member of the E.R. Schiffahrt Management Board. He is responsible for the Group’s entire commercial activities. This includes controlling, cooperation with banks, managing foreign exchange and interest, and controlling liquidity. He is also in charge of risk management, internal audit, organisation and IT services.
A banker by training and a commercial graduate (Diplom-Kaufmann), he began his career at Jungheinrich AG, where he was in charge of finance, among other things. In 1998 he joined Hapag-Lloyd AG. As Director of Finance he was responsible for all of the Group’s financial activities, including IPO and M&A activities. Mr. Bergert has been with E.R. Schiffahrt since 2004 and was appointed a Managing Director in 2005.
Willem Dekker
Managing Director, Business Development and Newbuilding
As Managing Director and member of the E.R. Schiffahrt Management Board Willem Dekker is responsible for contracting of new tonnage for the company and the subsequent follow-up until delivery of the new vessels. In addition, Mr Dekker is responsible for the development of new shipping projects within E.R. Schiffahrt.
After studying business administration at the Henley Business School in the UK, Mr. Dekker began his career with the Royal Nedlloyd Group. He then moved to Nedlloyd Lines (P&O Nedlloyd), where he was in charge of chartering the container vessels and of ship procurement. Mr. Dekker has been with E.R. Schiffahrt since 2003.
Norbert Aschmann
Managing Director, Fleet Management (Technical Management, Procurement, Crewing | Container Ships and Dry Bulk Division)
As Managing Director and member of the E.R. Schiffahrt Management Board, Norbert Aschmann is responsible for the Human Resources Management for all seagoing employees. In this capacity he is also Managing Director of the Group’s subsidiary E.R. Ship Management, a specialized unit for Personnel Sea Services. In addition, Mr. Aschmann is responsible for the technical fleet management for Container and Dry Bulk vessels under E.R. Schiffahrt.
After studying industrial engineering, Mr. Aschmann served on a container vessel as a ship’s master. He then spent ten years working for Cyprus-based Hanseatic Shipping Co. Ltd. (now Bernhard Schulte Shipmanagement), latterly as Personnel Director. Mr. Aschmann has served as Managing Director of E.R. Schiffahrt since 2003.
Ian Perrott
Managing Director of E.R. Offshore
As Chief Executive Officer Ian Perrott is responsible for the offshore division at E.R. Schiffahrt. In this function he is in charge of chartering and marketing of the fleet of platform supply and anchor handling vessels.
Mr. Perrott has worked in shipping since 1976 and in the offshore business since 1982. In the course of his career he worked for five years as an offshore broker for Stewart Offshore Services Ltd. in London and Aberdeen. In Aberdeen he then managed the chartering business of Maersk Co. Ltd.’s North Sea AHTS fleet. In 1990 he moved to Sealion Shipping Ltd., serving as Commercial Director and Joint Managing Director. Mr. Perrott has been with E.R. Offshore since July 2009.
Uwe Groos
Managing Director of E.R. Offshore
Uwe Groos is a Managing Director of E.R. Offshore, where he is responsible for commercial operations, seafaring personnel, technical fleet management, safety, quality and environmental management as well as fleet insurance.
After nautical training he graduated as a Diplom-Nautiker, taking his master’s certificate. He served on various kinds of vessels for over ten years, including as a master on chemical tankers. In 1996 he joined NSB Niederelbe Schiffahrtsgesellschaft, where he worked as Nautical and Technical Inspector.
At his start at E.R. Schiffahrt in 2000 he was responsible for the Quality & Nautical department in the company and since 2008 he took on this role at E.R. Offshore. In 2010 he was appointed a Managing Director of E.R. Offshore.

Knud E. Stubkjær
Vice Chairman
As Vice Chairman of the E.R. Capital Group, Knud Stubkjær is actively engaged in overall planning and contributes in determining strategic positioning of the Group going forward. He additionally focuses on developing existing and future shipping projects and growth opportunities.
Knud Stubkjær commenced his career with the A.P.Moller-Maersk Group in 1977 as a trainee. For more than 30 years within the Group he held numerous positions, including Partner and member of the Executive Board of A.P.Moller-Maersk A/S from 2000-2008. Prior to 1999, Knud Stubkjaer was, among others, Head of Maersk Line United Kingdom, President of Maersk K.K. Japan and Regional Manager A.P.Moller-Maersk for the Asia-Middle East-Oceania Area, based in Singapore. In 2008 Knud Stubkjær joined the E.R. Capital Group as CEO of E.R. Schiffahrt.
Nicholas Teller
Managing Director (CEO) of E.R. Capital Holding
Since August 2008 Nicholas Teller has been Chief Executive Officer of E.R. Capital Holding, the financial holding company and sole shareholder in Reederei E.R. Schiffahrt, the investment company Nordcapital and the private equity company equitrust AG.
After studying business management at the University of Birmingham he began his professional career by joining Commerzbank in London in 1982. In 1994 he was appointed Head of the Commerzbank’s Prague location, and in 1999 the bank appointed him Regional Director for Northern Germany, Scandinavia and Eastern Europe, in charge of the group’s shipping division. From April 2003 until the end of May 2008 he was a member of the board at Commerzbank AG, Frankfurt, where he was responsible for the Corporates and Markets department (Investment Banking).
