CEO of E.R. Schiffahrt
As chief executive officer of E.R. Schiffahrt, Nils Aden is responsible for the shipping activities of the Group with a particular focus in the areas of crewing, customer relations, chartering, quality and nautical management.
After studying business economics at the Hamburg Business Academy (VWA) and the Nordakademie, Nils Aden began his career in the controlling and strategic distribution management department of Vereins- und Westbank AG in Hamburg. In 2001, he then transferred to Harren & Partner, a shipping company in Bremen. In 2004, Nils Aden joined the E.R. Group, where he has held various management positions, most recently as head of customer relations. He was appointed to the management board of E.R. Schiffahrt in 2013 and has served as CEO of E.R. Schiffahrt since February 2015.
CFO of E.R. Schiffahrt
Erik Kruse is chief financial officer of E.R. Schiffahrt. In this role, he is responsible for all commercial activities at the shipping company. This includes accounting, finance and controlling, cooperation with banks, managing foreign currencies and interest rates, as well as the liquidity management of both the shipping company and the single-ship companies managed.
A banker by training and a graduate in commerce, he began his career in the corporate and financial controlling department of Jungheinrich AG. In 2000, he transferred to the shipping company Hapag-Lloyd AG, where he held various management positions in internal treasury. In 2005, he took over as head of interest rate and currency management at the Hamburg issuing house HCI. Since 2007, Erik Kruse has served as head of finance and controlling at E.R. Schiffahrt. In February 2015, he was appointed to the management board of E.R. Schiffahrt.
Managing Director of E.R. Schiffahrt and BestShip
As managing director and member of the management board of E.R. Schiffahrt and its subsidiary BestShip, Helge Bartels is responsible for the shipping company’s technical fleet management. This includes technical fleet operations, comprehensive topics regarding energy efficiency, docking and modifications, as well as further technical and organisational development of these areas and processes.
Upon completing his university studies with a master’s degree in engineering, Helge Bartels began his professional career as a sales and project engineer for a medium-sized company in the maritime sector. From 2003 onwards, he was responsible for several business functions with a focus on energy and engine technology, as well as plant engineering. In 2006, he took over a leadership position at a well-known supplier to the shipbuilding industry, where he established the new business segment Offshore Oil and Gas and headed a wholly owned subsidiary. In early 2009, Helge Bartels moved on to business consulting and established the Clean Energy business segment. In late 2013, he joined E.R. Schiffahrt as director of Technical Fleet Management. In 2014, he was appointed to the managing board of its new subsidiary BestShip, a service and business consultancy. Since February 2015, he is also managing director of E.R. Schiffahrt.
Managing Director of E.R. Schiffahrt
As managing director of E.R. Schiffahrt and member of the E.R. Schiffahrt management board Isabelle Rickmers is responsible for the new business, key account management and purchasing divisions.
She studied international business administration in Vienna, London, Madrid and Paris, and gained her early practical experience with international companies, including in Shanghai, London and Madrid. In 2010, she began a trainee programme with the E.R. Group and passed through various roles at investment firm Nordcapital and shipbroker Harper Petersen. Isabelle Rickmers subsequently moved to the shipping company E.R. Schiffahrt, where she started out in the customer relations department. She assumed management of this department in 2014. In January 2015 she was appointed to the management board of E.R. Schiffahrt.
Managing Director of E.R. Ship Management GmbH & Cie. KG
Heiko Nies serves as the managing director of E.R. Ship Management GmbH & Cie. KG, a subsidiary of E.R. Schiffahrt that specialises in crewing and sea services. In this role, he is responsible for the company's maritime personnel.
After training to become an officer, Heiko Nies studied industrial and organisational psychology at the University of Hamburg. He has almost two decades of experience in the field of human resources and held senior positions at various companies in Hamburg before joining E.R. Capital Holding GmbH & Cie. KG as head of HR in 2010. In this role he supervises personnel administration for the land-based staff of all companies in the Group.
On 1 July 2015, Heiko Nies was also appointed as the director of E.R. Ship Management, taking on additional responsibility for maritime personnel.
CEO of E.R. Capital Holding
Since July 2014 Jochen Klösges has been chief executive officer of E.R. Capital Holding, the financial holding company and shareholder in Reederei E.R. Schiffahrt, the investment company Nordcapital and E.R. Offshore.
After studying banking and business administration at the Banking Academy he began his professional career by joining Dresdner Bank, Deutsche Hypothekenbank and Eurohyp. In 2004 he moved to Frankfurt to join the board of managing directors at Eurohypo AG. His responsibilities in this position ranged from the retail banking and securities business to organisation. At the same time, he became head of a central department at Commerzbank AG in 2006 and project manager for the integration of Eurohypo as part of Commerzbank. Following the successful takeover of Eurohypo, he took on the role of head of group strategy and development at Commerzbank AG in 2007, still based in Frankfurt. He also headed a variety of merger and acquisition projects during this time. Starting in 2008, he had overall responsibility for the project merging Commerzbank and Dresdner Bank.
From June 2009 until the end of 2013, Jochen Klösges served as a member of the board of managing directors at Commerzbank AG, responsible for the areas of business under his control included commercial real estate finance, asset management and leasing, ship finance and public finance. In addition, he oversaw activities in the Middle East and North Africa. During this period he was also chairman of the supervisory board for the subsidiaries Eurohypo AG, CommerzReal AG and Deutsche Schiffsbank AG.
Chairman of the Advisory Board of E.R. Capital Holding
From August 2008 until June 2014 Nicholas Teller has been chief executive officer of E.R. Capital Holding. In July 2014 he became chairman of E.R. Capital Holding and with effect from July 2015 chairman of the advisory board.
After studying business management at the University of Birmingham he began his professional career by joining Commerzbank in London in 1982. In 1994 he was appointed Head of the Commerzbank’s Prague location, and in 1999 the bank appointed him Regional Director for Northern Germany, Scandinavia and Eastern Europe, in charge of the group’s shipping division. From April 2003 until the end of May 2008 he was a member of the board at Commerzbank AG, Frankfurt, where he was responsible for the Corporates and Markets department (Investment Banking).
