The eight 13,100-TEU Super-Post-Panamax Class container ships are being built under the supervision of E.R. Schiffahrt by Hyundai Heavy Industries Ltd. (HHI) in South Korea, the world's largest shipbuilding group. At 13,100 TEU they are among the largest container ships ever built.
The newbuilds will comply with the latest technological and ecological requirements, including Germanischer Lloyd's "environmental passport", an economical main engine designed to run on low-sulphur fuels, with inboard fuel tanks and TBT-free coats of paint.
