The five 8,204-TEU Post-Panamax Class container ships were taken into service between 2005 and 2006. They were built under the supervision of E.R. Schiffahrt by Hyundai Samho Heavy Industries Ltd. (HSHI) in South Korea.
Seventeen rows of containers can be stowed alongside each other on deck. Up to 700 FEU reefer containers can be laden on and below deck. The nearly 70,000 kW MAN B&W 12 K98 MC main engine can reach a service speed of over 25 knots.
Post-Panamax container ships mainly serve the high-volume East-West routes between Europe and the Far East and between the Far East and the western seaboard of North America.
